Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Moment

This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season proved outmatched against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
