Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete

The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night stating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.

The team did not mention the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Claims Posted on Instagram

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Player's Recent Legal Issues

Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.

Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
